You never said it because they might not feel the same. Now you don’t have to go first.
Leave a sealed message for one specific person — an ex, an old friend, someone you owe an apology. It stays sealed, and your name stays hidden, unless they leave one for you too.
Say it only if they feel it too.
One message, locked to one person.
Write the "I miss you," "I’m sorry," or "I still think about you" you never sent. It’s sealed to that one person’s email and can’t be read by them — or by anyone browsing — until it opens.
It opens only if they feel it too.
If they also leave a message for you, both open at the same moment. If they never do, nothing is ever revealed. They never learn you tried.
They don’t need to download anything.
The other person gets a short email: someone left them a sealed message. It never says who. To answer, they leave their own message for the person they’re thinking of — if it’s you, both open.
Three steps
You write it
You write a message and enter the person’s email.
They get one email
They get one anonymous email saying someone left them a sealed message — no name, no hint, nothing from your message.
Both open, or nothing does
If they leave one for you too, both open. If not, yours stays sealed until it expires and is deleted.
Not a dating app
IfYouToo is for people you already know: the ex you still miss, the friend you drifted from, the person you owe an apology. There are no profiles, no swiping, no strangers, no browsing.
Other "mutual crush" apps are built for dating — profiles, campuses, matches. IfYouToo is for what’s left unsaid between people who already know each other: I miss you, I’m sorry, I never stopped caring. The other person doesn’t need an app, and your name is never shown unless they write to you too.
What we keep, when we delete it, and what we never send
What we keep
- Your email, so you can sign in and hear about a match.
- The recipient’s email, stored encrypted only while it’s needed: until the notification goes out and your seal expires. After that, all we keep is a keyed fingerprint (HMAC) — enough to enforce our limits, not a readable address.
- If someone asks us to stop emailing them, we keep only a keyed fingerprint of their address, never the address itself.
- Your message, encrypted in storage and in transit, until it opens, you withdraw it, or it expires.
When we delete it
- An unmatched seal lasts 6 months (12 with Keep). When it expires, the message and the recipient’s email are deleted within 30 days. Withdraw it and the message is deleted right away.
- Deleted data can remain in rolling backups for up to 30 more days.
- Delete your account and all your sealed messages go with it.
- Waitlist emails are used only to announce launch and are deleted on request.
What we never do
- Never reveal who sent a message unless both of you have written to each other.
- Never send a fake or "teaser" notification to make you come back.
- Never put any words from your message in the notification email.
- Never email the same person more than once in 90 days, no matter how many seals are left for them — and never email someone who has asked us to stop.
- Never sell or share emails, and never show ads.
- Up to 3 active sealed messages, each kept for 6 months.
- Opening a match and answering a message you received are always free.
- Your seals last 12 months instead of 6.
- You can edit a message until it’s matched.
- You can hold up to 5 active seals.
- No subscription. Ever.

Can I use it today?
IfYouToo is still being built. Joining the waitlist saves your email and a few optional answers so we can tell you when it opens. We don’t collect any messages or names yet. 18+ only. Available in the US only.
